You are invited to participate in a dissertation research study examining (Counsellors/Psychotherapists) Therapists’ Attitudes of their use of Teletherapy Pre and Post 2020. Teletherapy herein refers to video conferencing counselling/psychotherapy (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Whatsapp, Skype) only and not on the telephone without video.
The study is conducted as part of the researcher’s MSc Degree in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy and under the advisement of IICP College. The study has been approved through the IICP Review Board and was granted ethical approval to be conducted. In order to participate, you must be an accredited counsellor and/or psychotherapist in Ireland and use Teletherapy. This survey is anonymous and will take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete and all information will be kept confidential. There are minimal risks associated with participating in this research. The results of this study will help to inform therapists and educators by providing data on the Therapists’ Attitudes towards Teletherapy and how they might change over time and experience. Your participation in this study is voluntary. If you decide to participate, you may withdraw from the study up to the 1st of May 2024 without penalty. Participating in this study may make you more aware of your own attitudes and beliefs towards teletherapy and may encourage you to explore your use or not of it. |
This study, Therapists’ Attitudes of their use of Teletherapy Pre and Post 2020, is being conducted by Ivan Kennedy, a student pursuing an MSc in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy in the IICP, Tallaght.
Risks: There are no known risks associated with this study. If you should at any time find yourself upset or uncomfortable, please stop participating in the study. And you may contact the researcher on the contact information below. Privacy: Confidentiality of the research records will be maintained by the researcher. The survey does not ask for information that can identify participants. For example, the survey will not ask for names or addresses. There is an offer for providing your email address should you want an overview of results. Any such emails, and all other data will be saved in a password protected file, in a password protected laptop.
